About

A page about me. Forever building and growing.

Dr. David Ludwig grew up in Tacoma, Washington. He moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington (UW), earning degrees in both Economics and Biochemistry. In 2015, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from UW, where he was class president and active in student and university leadership and community outreach.

Dr. Ludwig completed a six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at UW in 2021, having spent 15 years as a proud UW Husky. During residency, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) (2018) from the UW School of Medicine and completed 16 months of General Surgery training.

Dr. Ludwig’s research interests include craniomaxillofacial trauma, head and neck cancer, perioperative nutrition, and transgender patient care. His research has been presented at national and international meetings and is published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Journal of the American Dental Association.

Dr. Ludwig has a special interest in providing care to underserved populations. Throughout his training, he volunteered regularly at the Seattle Union Gospel Mission Dental Clinic. He also started and taught an elective course at the School of Dentistry that combined student outreach and interdisciplinary education. His efforts were recognized by the American Dental Association Foundation with a community leadership award.

Dr. Ludwig is a Pacific Northwest native and is excited to serve the community at Harbor Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with his clinical interests in orthognathic surgery, dental implants and dentoalveolar surgery, the management of obstructive sleep apnea, facial trauma, and pathology.

In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, running, hiking, skiing, and boating. He is always planning a new adventure with his wife Shivani and daughter Anika.
